How can you get the best out of this service
Web browsing in snack-sized portions provides a ubiquitous web experience. Plus, this is one of the most affordable ways to enjoy the web in areas where we don’t have a DSL network.
Again, you need to be more active in managing your web browsing experience since speeds can vary widely due to the nature of mobile networks. Some things you can do to ensure you have the best possible web experience: use mobile versions of sites you visit: these are usually prefixed with mobile.sitename or m.sitename or wap.sitename e.g., mobile.ghanaweb.com, m.facebook.com, m.youtube.com.
Some websites also use the .mobile extension. If you are tech-savvy (if not, see one of our Product Specialists), you can download and use a browser like Opera Mini for your phone which optimizes the mobile browsing experience; you can get even more performance by running it in Turbo Mode. Other browsers like Google Chrome, MS Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox have mobile versions that have been tweaked to give a better experience for on the go browsing.
Depending on your phone, you may be able to download widgets or applications for your favourite web destinations e.g. Facebook. For more on how to enjoy the Internet in a lower bandwidth area see this useful blog article. You will find step-by-step instructions on how to SPEED up your web experience. Standard disclaimer about non-Vodafone web sites of course applies.
