CHIP Registration

The National Communication Authority has issued a directive for the registration of all mobile phone chips in the country.

The exercise follows the directive of the National Communication Authority (NCA) that all chips in the country should be registered. It is intended to enhance security by establishing a database of all mobile phone users in Ghana to help curb incidents such as loss of phone through theft, nuisance text messages, scams, threats, raising unnecessary alarm or creating panic, deliberately or otherwise.

From July 1, 2010, any new Vodafone chip purchased in Ghana must be registered with Vodafone before that chip can be activated for use

By June 30, 2011, all existing Vodafone subscribers in Ghana must have registered their chips in order to avoid being disconnected from their network

NB: From July 1, 2011 owners of unregistered chips (both new & existing) will not be able to make or receive calls on their phones.

Go to any Vodafone retail Shop or authorized registration centre with a valid national ID and have your chip registered.

Look for the nearest Vodafone Shop or authorized registration centre or call the Vodafone customer support on 011 for assistance.
