How to Set up Your Email on BIS Account
The first time you log in to BlackBerry Internet Email set up, you can add a supported email address, create a BlackBerry email address, or do both.

  • You can add an email address if you have an existing, supported email account that you want to access from your BlackBerry device (e.g. Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo).
  • You can create a BlackBerry email address if you do not have an existing, supported email account, or if you need an additional email address that you can use to send and receive email messages.
  • You can add email addresses that are associated with the following email account types to the BlackBerry Internet Email:
    • ISP (using POP or IMAP)
    • Microsoft Exchange (using Microsoft Outlook Web Access)
    • IBM Lotus Domino (using inotes)

Setting Up Your Email From The Computer

To use this setup option, you require the following:

  • Internet browser: Microsoft® Internet Explorer version 6.0 (or later) or Netscape® Communicator version 7.2 (or later) with JavaScript™ enabled
  • Operating system: Microsoft Windows® 2000, Windows XP or later and Mac OS® 10.3 (or later)
  • Internet Connection: Verify that the computer is connected to the Internet.
  • Log in to http://www.mobileemail.vodafone.com.gh/
  • On the http://www.mobileemail.vodafone.com.gh/ home page, click create new account
  • Read the legal terms and conditions carefully.
  • To accept the legal terms and conditions and continue the setup process, click I agree.
  • Enter your device PIN and IMEI numbers at the prompt
    • To find your PIN and IMEI perform one of the following actions:
    • In the BlackBerry device options or settings, click Status.
    • Look for the PIN information on the outside of the box that your BlackBerry device came in.
    • Turn the BlackBerry device off and remove the battery. Look for the sticker in the BlackBerry device with the PIN information under the battery.
  • Enter username and password for your BIS login and confirm password (choose names and password you can remember).
    • To add an email address for an existing supported email account, type the full email address (for example, your name@ ISP name.com). Type the password for your email account.
    • To create a BlackBerry email address, in the Username field, type the name that you want to appear before the at sign (@) in your new BlackBerry email address, for easy recollection, you should enter ‘your name’ and then enter any password of your choice. Your BlackBerry email id will therefore be (your name@mobileemail.vodafone.com.gh).
    • Click Next.
    • Click OK.

Then you can begin adding your email accounts you want to associate with your blackberry device.

Setting Up Your Email From Your Device

  • Verify that your BlackBerry device is connected to the wireless network. It takes only few minutes when you insert your SIM, depending on the GPRS/EDGE strength and also access to the data network.
  • Click on the ‘Email settings’ icon.
  • Perform one of the following actions:
    • To create a BlackBerry email address, click Create New Account.
    • Read the legal terms and conditions carefully. To accept the legal terms and conditions and continue the setup process, click Yes.
    • Click Get Link.
    • In the Username field, type the name that you want to appear before the at (@) sign in your new BlackBerry email address. For easy recollection, you should enter ‘your name’ and then enter any password of your choice. Your BlackBerry email id will therefore be (yourname@mobileemail.vodafone.com.gh).
  • Click next
  • To add an email address for an existing supported email account, type the full email address (for example, yourname@hotmail.com yourname@gmail.com yourname@yahoo.com followed by your password.
  • Click Next.
  • Click OK.

Depending on your email provider/ISP, you might not be able to add email addresses for certain email account types, except the following email protocols are allowed by default (pop3, Imap)
