Vodafone Donates Towards National Blood Donors Awards

Vodafone Ghana has presented a cheque for GH¢2,000 to the National Blood Transfusion Services. This is donation is towards the 9th anniversary celebration of blood donors awards day which falls on 28 November 2009.

The Blood Donors Awards Day, which is instituted by National Blood Transfusion Services in collaboration with the Accra Chapter of Rotary Club, is to publically acknowledge and reward consistent voluntary blood donors across the country for their immense contribution to saving lives. It is also to encourage people to be active donors.

This year’s celebration would have prizes going out to four national donors and three regional awards each in all the 10 regions of Ghana.

Presenting the cheque, Mr. Paul Ryan, Director for External Affairs at Vodafone Ghana said, Vodafone believes in supporting voluntary blood donation campaign as it is good for mankind.

The National Director of the National Blood Transfusion Services, Dr. Justina K. Ansah, who received the donation, expressed gratitude for Vodafone’s support towards the awards ceremony.

She appealed to Management to further collaborate periodically in the campaign programme for voluntary donors and also assist by sensitizing staff to voluntarily donate blood every four months.
