Vodafone Booths - telephones for schools

01 July 2010

Vodafone Ghana’s phone booths deployed in over 400 Senior High Schools (SHS) holds the key to solving the Ghana Education Service’s (GES) ban on the use of mobile phones on SHS campuses

VODAFONE BOOTHS are fixed public GSM terminals with all the functions of a standard mobile phone and can be used to make calls.

This service enables a subscriber to receive a permanent personal number on the Vodafone network, allowing him or her to view, search and add entries to his or her sim phone book amongst other functions.

  • The phone has full voice functionality, a pre-paid mode of operation with exclusive Vodafone sim card.
  • The VODAFONE BOOTH is built to withstand our harsh environment, and can be mounted indoors or outdoors for the convenience of users.

How it works
All a subscriber to the VODAFONE BOOTH service needs is a Vodafone starter pack with credit on it to enable him or her make calls.

The facility can be used by Vodafone customers to subscribe to all the value added services on the Vodafone network such as the ‘Call Me Back Service’, IDD, Family and Friends, , ‘SMS, ‘Vodafone Help Line’ and SOS/Emergency Calls. Vodafone customers can also use the same sim card to check credit received, account balance, etc.
